Washington D.C. – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), the premier post-licensure certification organization serving the pharmacy profession, announces the results of the September/October 2024 certification and recertification examination administration window.
In this administration window, 146 out of 303 examinees were successful in the specialty examinations offered in Emergency Medicine Pharmacy (BCEMP) and Solid Organ Transplantation Pharmacy (BCTXP).
The September/October windowed administration was the last offering for the BCEMP or BCTXP examinations in the windowed format. BCEMP will move to continuous testing with registration opening in January 2025. BCTXP will move to continuous testing with registration opening in July 2025, and there will be no opportunity to take this examination in the first half of 2025.
Results for Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP), Cardiology Pharmacy (BCCP), Compounded Sterile Preparations Pharmacy (BCSCP), Critical Care Pharmacy (BCCCP), Geriatric Pharmacy (BCGP), Infectious Diseases Pharmacy (BCIDP), Nuclear Pharmacy (BCNP), Nutrition Support Pharmacy (BCNSP), Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP), Pediatric Pharmacy (BCPPS), Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), and Psychiatric Pharmacy (BCPP) examinations administered through the continuously available modality will be available in January 2025.

The results for the BCEMP and BCTXP examination programs are provided below and are organized by the breakdown of total exam candidates (inclusive of first-time and repeat attempts) followed by first-time attempt candidates.
September/October 2024 Certification and Recertification examination results by specialty:
Recertification examinations were not offered in the BCEMP and BCTXP specialties, as the initial cohort of certificants have not reached year 7 in their certification cycle. Recertification examinations will begin in 2028 for BCTXP, and 2030 for BCEMP. The total number of examinees includes first-time candidates plus those who are retesting.
