Each BPS Examination Content Outline (ECO) serves as the blueprint for each BPS certification examination and defines the scope of the competencies associated with pharmacy practice in that specialty area. ECOs are developed through a rigorous multi-modal study called a Job Analysis, which is conducted at least once every 5 years to ensure that the ECO reflects the knowledge and skills required and tasks performed by a pharmacist in that specialty area.
Exam Content Outlines (ECOs) and Test Administration Dates
When multiple Exam Content Outlines (ECOs) are posted for a specialty area, they correspond with different test administration periods. The current ECO applies to exams administered up to the effective date of the new ECO. The new ECO will go into effect for exams administered on or after its listed start date.
