Washington D.C. – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) is pleased to announce the approval of CEimpact as a professional development program (PDP) provider for the recertification of board-certified nutrition support pharmacists (BCNSPs) for the contract period beginning January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2030.
In July 2025, BPS issued a request for proposals to provide a PDP for the recertification of BCNSPs. Interested entities submitted proposals in late 2025 and the BPS Nutrition Support Pharmacy Specialty Council and BPS Board of Directors conducted their review of proposals.
For specialty certifications offered by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), the purpose of recertification is to help ensure that the credential holder demonstrates a continued commitment to maintaining and further developing the competencies necessary for safe and effective practice in that specialty area. BPS complies with the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) standards on maintenance of certification.

BPS anticipates that the next multi-specialty request for proposal will be issued in 2028 or 2029 for contracts beginning January 1, 2031. Any organization is welcome to submit a proposal at that time. A request for proposals for a newly BPS-recognized specialty area may be issued in the interim, and any organization may submit a proposal in response.

The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) was established in 1976 as an autonomous division of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA).
