VA Examination Fee Reimbursement for BPS Board Certification

BPS is an approved certification provider for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Licensing and Certification Test Reimbursement Program.

This program allows eligible Veterans, service members, and their qualified dependents to request reimbursement for BPS board certification examination fees using their VA education benefits.

Who May Be Eligible

VA reimbursement may be available to individuals eligible for education benefits under programs including:

  • Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33)
  • Montgomery GI Bill® (Active Duty or Selected Reserve)
  • Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA)

Eligibility is determined entirely by the VA.

What Costs May Be Reimbursed

The VA may reimburse:

  • BPS certification examination fees [BA3.1]

The VA does not reimburse:

  • Fees for obtaining the physical license or certificate document [va.gov]

How to Apply for Reimbursement

  1. Apply for and sit for a BPS board certification examination.
  2. Pay the examination fee.
  3. Complete VA Form 22 0803 after taking the exam.
  4. Submit the form to the VA with:
    • Proof of payment
    • Exam results or certification verification (when available)

Important Notes

  • Reimbursement is processed and paid by the VA, not BPS.
  • VA entitlement limits apply (generally up to a maximum reimbursement per test).
  • Candidates may request reimbursement for multiple attempts, subject to remaining entitlement. [va.gov]
