Washington, D.C. – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) is pleased to announce the 2025 BPS Board of Director officers and newly appointed members. BPS welcomes Gary C. Yee as 2025 BPS Chair, Anita Siu as 2025 BPS Chair-Elect, and Cyrine-Eliana Haidar as 2025 BPS Immediate Past Chair. BPS also welcomes Maura Biszewski and Josep M. Guiu-Segura to the BPS Board of Directors for their term beginning January 1, 2025.

The BPS Board of Directors plays a crucial role in ensuring that board certification continues to meet the needs of both pharmacists and patients. We are excited to welcome Maura and Josep to the Board and look forward to their contributions under the leadership of Gary, Anita, and Cyrine.” said BPS Executive Director, William M. Ellis, MS, RPh, ICE-CCP.
The BPS Board of Directors is composed of 12 voting members, including nine pharmacists and three public members, who serve up to two three-year terms. The BPS Executive Director and one member of the APhA Board of Trustees are nonvoting ex officio Board members.
Board of Directors Officers
Gary C. Yee, PharmD, FCCP, FAPhA to Serve as the 2025 BPS Chair
Dr. Yee is Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He was previously a board-certified oncology pharmacist. He completed his B.S. in Pharmacy at the University of Washington, his Pharm.D. at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and post-doctoral training at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He also completed a sabbatical at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) and the American Pharmacist Association (APhA). He has previously held positions at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Florida. At the University of Nebraska Medical Center, he has served in a leadership role as Department Chair, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
He has published more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and his research findings have been published in several prominent journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) and the Lancet. He is also one of the editors of Pharmacotherapy: A Pathophysiologic Approach, a textbook used in most schools of pharmacy. His research has been supported by numerous sources, including the National Institutes of Health. He has served as a member of guideline panels of several professional oncology groups, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). He has served as an elected officer in numerous professional organizations and is a Past President of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP).
Anita Siu, PharmD, BCPPS to Serve as the 2025 BPS Chair-elect
Dr. Anita Siu is a Clinical Professor, the Vice Chair for Teaching and Learning, and Director of Faculty Mentoring at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She is a Pediatric Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator and practices at the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital and Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a part of the Hackensack Meridian Health System (HMH), and serves as a liaison between the Department of Pharmacy and Pediatrics. Currently, she leads the HMH Pediatric Specialty Pharmacotherapy Council network initiatives. Dr. Siu earned her Bachelor’s and Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and completed two years of Pharmacy residency training, General Pediatrics and Neonatal/Pediatric Critical Care.
She was the first pharmacist inducted as a member of the Stuart D. Cook, M.D. Master Educators’ Guild at Rutgers University and elected as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Rutgers Biomedical Health Science Faculty Council. Dr. Siu has also served two terms as Chair of the BPS Pediatric Pharmacy Specialty Council. In 2023, Dr. Siu was elected to the American Academy of Pediatrics Section of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (SOCPT) Executive Committee as the Pediatric Pharmacy Association liaison.
Cyrine-Eliana Haidar, PharmD, BCPS, BCOP, FASHP to Serve as the 2025 BPS Immediate Past Chair
Dr. Haidar is currently the Senior Clinical Pharmacogenomics Program Manager and Associate Member at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Haidar is also Assistant Professor at The University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science. She received her Pharm.D. from the Lebanese American University, completed a Pharmacotherapy PGY1 at Hackensack University Medical Center, and Pediatric Oncology PGY2 Residency at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Her practice is focused on Clinical Pharmacogenomics and its application in oncology. She is a founding member of the Pharmacogenomics Research Network (PGRN), and the Chair of the Pharmacogenomics Subcommittee of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG). Previous activities include serving on the Council on Therapeutics of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and serving two terms (including Chair) on the Oncology Pharmacy Specialty Council for BPS. She is a contributing editor for pharmacogenomics of the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy (AJHP).

Maura Biszewski to Serve as Board Member Beginning January 1, 2025
Maura Biszewski currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Engagement at the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), overseeing key departments such as certification, education, membership, research, and public health initiatives. She plays a critical role in developing and executing strategic priorities, budget management, and leading collaborations across various partners in the healthcare field. Maura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from Loyola University Chicago, where she graduated with honors, and a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Loyola University Chicago Institute for Paralegal Studies, also with honors.
Her career has been deeply rooted in advancing graduate medical education and board certification, having previously served as Senior Vice President of Certification and Graduate Medical Education at the AOA. Her leadership contributed to significant developments in osteopathic board certification programs and medical education policies, directly impacting thousands of physicians and educators. With a background that spans both the strategic and operational aspects of certification and education, she continues to advocate for professional self-regulation and the value of board certification to improve public health and education. Her leadership has been recognized through awards such as the Association Forum’s 40 Under 40, and she has contributed to several key publications and presentations within the osteopathic community.

Josep M. Guiu-Segura, PharmD, BCPS, BCOP, FFIP, to Serve as Board Member Beginning January 1, 2025
Dr. Josep M. Guiu is currently the Director of the Pharmacy and Medicines area at the Consortium of Health and Social Care of Catalonia, Spain. He is also an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Care at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences, University of Barcelona, Spain. Additionally, he serves as Vice President for Europe within the Hospital Pharmacy Section of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), and he was appointed FIP Fellow in 2023. He also the president of the Catalan Society of Clinical Pharmacy (Spain). Since 2017, Dr. Guiu-Segura has been a dedicated member of the BPS International Advisory Committee, offering valuable insights on the global impact of board certification
Dr. Guiu earned his Pharmacy degree from the University of Barcelona in 2006 and subsequently became a licensed pharmacist. He completed his hospital pharmacy residency at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, and obtained specialization in hospital pharmacy in 2011. He is also Master in Translational Medicine and Master in Pharmaceutical Care from the University of Barcelona, and Master in Clinical Management from the National School of Health of Spain. He holds certifications as a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and Board-Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP).

The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) was established in 1976 as an autonomous division of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). The mission of BPS is to improve patient care by positioning BPS Board-Certified Pharmacist Specialists as integral members of multidisciplinary healthcare teams, through recognition and promotion of specialized training, knowledge, and skills for pharmacists in the United States and internationally. Board certification is a recognized credential for determining which pharmacists are qualified to contribute at advanced practice levels given the rigorous standards mandated by BPS board certification and recertification.
