Board of Pharmacy Specialties Announces New Test Delivery Services Provider

Washington, D.C. – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) announces a new strategic partnership with Pearson to provide test delivery services for BPS examinations in January 2026. As part of this transition, BPS will conclude its partnership with Prometric, the current test delivery services provider, in December 2025.

To facilitate the transition between test delivery service providers, certification applications for BPS examinations delivered by Prometric will no longer be accepted after September 30, 2025. Recertification applications will continue to be received and processed. The final date to sit for an exam delivered by Prometric is December 15, 2025. To allow time to transition to the new test delivery services provider, no examinations will be administered during the dates of December 16, 2025 to January 19, 2026.

BPS examinees will begin test delivery services with Pearson on January 20, 2026.

BPS initiated a request-for-proposal (RFP) for test administration services in June 2024. Following a thorough review and evaluation process, Pearson was selected.

Candidates with existing exam appointments will receive direct communication regarding the transition. Additional information can be found here on the BPS website.
